16 Admitted After Accident in Thika

16 people were admitted in hospital after a tragic road accident near Thika town along the Embu-Nairobi highway on Friday morning.

The matatu they were travelling in was hit from behind by a lorry.

According to The Nation, police say the matatu veered off the road and landed on guard rails.

The lorry driver is said to have lost control of the lorry before hitting the matatu.

The injured were rushed to Thika Level Five hospital.

The accident caused a traffic snarl up along the highway for hours.

Traffic police have urged motorists to be careful along that highway.

Several accidents have been witnessed over the past few months on the highway.

The most recent was a few days ago where four people died.
