Kalonzo Musyoka Claims Jubilee Government is Buying Votes in Ukambani

National Super Alliance (NASA) Principal Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed a grand scheme by the Jubilee government to rig the elections.

The Wiper Party leader accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of masterminding vote buying in the Ukambani region.

He stated that the government had instructed chiefs and their assistants to buy Identity Cards from locals in Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties.

“I can’t prevent the president from asking for votes in Ukambani, but it is a crime to use our chiefs to buy votes,” he declared.

Kalonzo went further to claim that the Chiefs being used were buying IDs from the three counties at a price of Sh2000 each.

The Opposition leader added that County Commissioners were being used to bribe voters as well.

He declared that if NASA wins the August polls, they would allocate more responsibilities to the Chiefs as well as retrain them.

Consequently, the NASA leader has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to allow international bodies observe the August elections.

“We want international observers such as Jimmy Carter Foundation, Commonwealth Foundation and the African Union Foundation to come and monitor how our election will be held,” he stated.
