NASA Flag bearer Raila Odinga Praises Kiambu County, Terms it Indispensable

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has praised Kiambu County saying it has great potential that can be achieved if the government gets its priorities right.

In a statement availed to the press prior to his Kiambu visit, the former Prime Minister praised the hard work of residents and lauded their efforts in the milk industry.

He also paid tribute to the managers of their cooperative society for their focus and dedication to their members.

"Kiambu has always produced a lot of milk. I am very pleased to say that even as cartels have taken over so much of agricultural pricing, one institution in the milk industry is still standing strong – the Githunguri Dairies Cooperative Society," read the statement in part.

He emphasised the importance of Kiambu as a county saying it was indispensable.

"Kiambu County continues to be central - in fact, indispensable - to prosperity and progress in our country.

Odinga also praised the quality of coffee produced in the area saying his government would also revive the tea industry.

The Opposition chief further acknowledged the entrepreneurial minds of Kiambu people saying he would harness their potential.

In his closing remarks, he stated that no community is better than the other and emphasised integrity and inclusion.

"It has always been my dream to follow in the footsteps of true nationalist Kenyans and I have never felt that any one community is better than or inferior to the other.

"I hold strong convictions about inclusion, about integrity, about democracy and about the need for a leader to pay the fullest attention to the needs of ordinary Kenyans," he said.
