An autopsy conducted on the body of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) lawyer Jared Ratemo who was found dead along Mombasa Road shows he was tortured, injected with an unknown substance and strangled.
Mr Ratemo, who had been reported missing on Tuesday, was found dumped at the junction of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport/ Mombasa Road.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome confirmed the incident stating that they had launched investigations into the murder.
“It seems the deceased was killed somewhere and the body dumped where it was found. We are yet to establish the motive and those behind it,” Koome stated.
Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko had also ordered a probe into the murder that seemed well planned out.
According to Mokua's family, the deceased had travelled to Nairobi for work when he met his brutal death.
The family further noted that they would fight to ensure justice is served and the perpetrators of the act are brought to book.
“We don’t know why my brother was killed this way. We will, however, make sure we know the truth,” said Mokua's brother.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to the Chiromo Mortuary.
