IEBC Cancel Results for Enenkeshui in Kilgoris

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has canceled results for a polling station in Kilgoris.

Kilgoris constituency Returning Officer (RO) Elijah Ombogo canceled the results for Enenkeshui polling center after the total number of registered votes exceeded the sum of registered voters.

"The total number of registered voters is 285 while the total number of votes cast on Tuesday is 325," Mr Ombogo stated.

He called on officials to probe the results and asked the Presiding officer in-charge of the polling center to write a statement explaining how the situation happened.

Mr Ombogo further noted that all presiding officers would be held responsible for any tampering of results that might occur since the results they transmit would be final.

The Returning Officer mentioned that he was not happy with the proceedings at some stations as officers were not performing as expected.

"Officials, mostly from the teaching profession were trained for four days, but I have been inundated with calls from the field with everyone asking how to go about doing some things," the RO stated.
