IEBC to Avail All Election Forms to the Supreme Court

The IEBC has announced that it will submit all election forms to the Supreme Court on Tuesday afternoon.

The electoral agency stated that it will file 109 volumes and 54,400 folios of election results declaration forms at 2.30pm.

"We will submit all statutory forms used to declare results this afternoon to the Supreme Court - the forms 34As, 34Bs and 34C," IEBC said in a tweet.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) last week filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging IEBC’s declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as winner of the 2017 presidential election.

After keeping their supporters waiting, NASA lawyers eventually arrived at least an hour and a half to the midnight deadline to file the much-anticipated petition.

According to NASA, 25 lawyers were involved in preparing the 25,000-page petition with 90% of documents filed being evidence.

NASA says they have electronic evidence showing how slain IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando’s stolen credentials were allegedly used to rig the election.

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga also claims that the number of votes indicated on forms 34A and 34B were not consistent, hence, raising eyebrows.

The paper forms, which should have been signed by an agent for each party supervising the polling station, were designed to be an additional check against the possibility of rigging.

The electoral commission had been slow to publish scanned copies of papers detailing results from each of the country's 40,883 polling stations.
