President Uhuru Kenyatta Asks Isaac Ruto to Abandon NASA and Join Jubilee

President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto to abandon the National Super Alliance and join the Jubilee Party.

Speaking during the inauguration of Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso on Tuesday, President Kenyatta noted that the outgoing governor had shown political maturity by conceding and accepting to hand over power, hence, he should leave the Opposition.

"You have shown that you are a true man. I want to ask you to come back. You don’t have to stay with that man of riddles,” President Kenyatta stated.

He congratulated Dr Laboso on her win, adding that the election of the new governor proved that Jubilee party was committed to ensuring gender equality.

On his part, Mr Ruto conceded defeat and wished Governor Laboso all the best as the new county boss.

The former governor affirmed that he was ready and willing to work with Dr Laboso for the good of the Bomet people.

"I did what I could in those four years. Now it is her turn to do her duties. I have assured her that I remain a citizen (resident) of Bomet and you will not see me squabbling with her because we cannot grow our county if we keep wrangling," Ruto stated.

Governor Laboso explained that she was ready to work with her competitors but cautioned that she would not condone corruption.

She passed a strong message to all county workers stating that employees’ documents would be examined as well as financial records of the county, alluding to the fact that she might conduct an audit to ensure she only remains with a clean and efficient workforce.

"As the governor of Bomet, I shall serve all of you without discrimination,” she said.
