Mutahi Ngunyi Reveals Why Politicians are Ditching Raila for President Uhuru Kenyatta

Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi has revealed why politicians are ditching Opposition Leader Raila Odinga for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his weekly show, the Fifth Estate, Prof Ngunyi and his Fort Hall School of Government team explained that politicians are not bought but rented and since Mr Odinga was broke the rented politicians were moving to search for greener pastures.

"If Raila is borrowing campaign money from poor peasants it means he doesn't have the cash to pay the rented politicians and this is why they are leaving him one by one," they explained.

The team further submitted that politicians always wanted to be associated with where the money was and since Raila was broke and borrowing, the y decided to join the other side.

"No finance, no romance. People tend to gravitate towards a winner not a gambler like Raila," the team explained.

Prof Ngunyi and his team made the remarks in reference to former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto who ditched NASA for Jubilee on Friday.

According to Mr Ruto, he ditched NASA because he 'felt lonely' in the opposition alliance.

"I felt lonely. I found myself alone and I have now decided to come back. Today I have returned to where I belong," he stated.
