Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga Appoints Oburu Odinga's son to Cabinet

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has appointed former nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Oburo Odinga's son, Jaoko Oburu, to the County Executive Committee.

Mr Jaoko Auma is set to take up the seat in the Siaya County Cabinet following the Governor's recommendation.

Jaoko Oburu, who was the Governor's economic advisor, has been appointed as the executive official in charge of the Tourism department.

The appointment of the son of Mr Oburu Odinga awaits approval by the County Assembly.

Mr Rasanga, who sacked the previous cabinet ministers, has also appointed Mr Joseph Ogutu as the finance executive.

George Rubik, who unsuccessfully vied for the speaker's seat, has been named water representative.

Other appointments include Nicholas Kut (Agriculture), Elizabeth Odhiambo (Enterprise and Energy), Adrian Ouma (Physical Planning) and Dorothy Owino (Health).

Rasanga also appointed Mary Omondi (Education), George Amenya (Roads) and Dalmas Wahkla (Public Service).

The Governor officially opened the second session of the assembly on Wednesday where he noted that the key changes will enhance service delivery in the county.
