Youth Raid ODM Governor's Office and Eject Bosses

Homa Bay County government office was on Wednesday raided by angry youth who stormed and ejected chief officers from a meeting.

The youth camped outside Governor Cyprian Awiti's office alleging that the senior officers had embezzled millions of cash from the county.

The group demanded that the officials should be sacked and also surrender their official cars.

"Some were appointed when they had not even one car and now they have a fleet," one of the protesters stated.

Homa Bay County has been making headlines for wrong reasons in the past few weeks.

Earlier this month, the offices of the Governor were burnt down following a suspected arson attack at the County headquarters.

The procurement and finance departments were the most affected, with a lot of crucial documents being burnt to ashes in the inferno.

The fire raised a lot of questions since it occurred three days after sleuths from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) visited the offices and left with documents and computers.

The detectives were investigating an alleged loss of Sh 5 Billion through impropriety of senior county government officials.
