Kenya Police Bosses Re-shuffled Ahead of Presidential Election

The Kenya Police Service has conducted major reshuffles ahead of the October repeat Presidential election. In the changes,  Police headquarters planning director Noor Gabow has been promoted and posted to Kiganjo where he will be commandant.

He replaces William Saiya at the Kenya Police Training College. Mr Saiya has been transferred to police headquarters for redeployment.

Kenya Railways Police unit has a new commandant in Rono Bunei.

Mr Bunei who has been moved from the Kenya Airports Police Unit will now be in charge of the standard gauge railway.

Peter Mwanzia who has been replaced by Mr Bunei was recalled to police headquarters for redeployment.

The move to shuffle the Senior offices comes when at the peak of the country's political activities with barely a month before the repeat presidential election is conducted on October 26th, 2017.

Earlier this month, Police Spokesman Charles Owino and seven others moved to new ranks.

In a new round of promotions at the National Police Service, Owino is among seven senior officers promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General.

The others who were promoted include; Peter Ndung’u, Joshua Kiplimo Too, Jostine Barmao, Nelson Njiru, Julia Muthama and Gerald Mbaabu.

The rank of Assistant Inspector General is only lower than Senior Assistant Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and that of the Inspector General.
