The Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba on Monday announced that he won't quit even as the Opposition conduct protests to force him and other officials out.
Chiloba stated that he and his other colleagues were focusing on the repeat polls on October 26 and not the protests.
"People should focus on preparations for the elections," Chiloba told the Star.
The CEO and 10 other officials are accused by the Opposition of bungling up the election.
According to the opposition coalition, Chiloba and the other IEBC officials cannot be trusted to handle a rerun.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Monday announced that supporters will take to the streets on Tuesday to push for electoral reforms.
"We will be there until reforms are made. The officers who bungled the elections must be sent home before we agree to go into the repeat election," he noted.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, however, warned the National Super Alliance (NASA) team that they would be met with the full force of the law if they attempt to disrupt businesses.
"We know they have planned demos, on Tuesday. That is their right. But if they try to loot shops, block roads and harass motorists, then they will know there's a government in power.
"If he is not ready for the election, let him stay at home and allow those of us who are ready to continue, " the President stated.
Police commander Japhet Koome last evening noted that NASA had not formally notified police of plans to demonstrate adding that if the protest is deemed illegal, there could be an ugly confrontation.
Reports indicate that Jubilee Party supporters are also planning to move to the streets to counter the NASA protests.
