What Awaits NASA Team at IEBC Offices Ahead of Planned Demos

A showdown is looming after a section of business owners announced that they would counter the anti-IEBC protests planned for today by the Opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA), in a bid to protect their investments.

Addressing the media, the Gema Business Community stated that its members would come out in large numbers to counter Opposition supporters whom they accused of intending to destroy their investments.

The group's chairman, Wilfred Kamau, accused NASA of using protests as an excuse to cause chaos and destroy the economy.

“We promise as they come to remove Chiloba, we will be there to protect him (Chiloba) as well as the interests of Kenyans.

"We are tired of NASA's threats and activism. Past demonstrations led to the loss of lives and destruction of property. No one is going to remove Chiloba from office," Kamau stated.

On Monday, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula stated that NASA will hold peaceful demonstrations outside IEBC offices on Tuesday to force its top officials to resign for allegedly bungling the August vote.

Senator Wetangula also noted that they will not attend a consultative meeting with the commission scheduled for Wednesday, accusing the electoral agency of unilaterally making decisions.

"We will not participate in an election presided over by tainted officials. There must be some accountability on the mess that occurred," Wetangula stated.
