An Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS) was attacked on Thursday night by unknown individuals and robbed of his pistol outside his home in Burnt Forest.
Cyntian Lenduda, who is attached at Burnt Forest, was cut in the head with a sharp object by the attackers during the 11 pm incident.
Eldoret East Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Furaha Adamson confirmed the incident stating that the attackers stole Lenduda's pistol and fled the scene.
"The officer was opening the door to his house when attackers came from behind, hit him on the head causing him to collapse," Mr Adamson noted.
The OCPD indicated that OCS was rushed to the Mediheal hospital and is still receiving treatment.
He noted that the police have already found a wallet with an identity card at the scene believed to belong to one of the attackers.
Adamson pointed out that the documents would provide a good lead during the investigation.
