Governor Jackson Mandago Shames NASA Governors

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has shamed a section of governors led by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who have threatened to sue the national government for failing to release money to the counties.

Speaking in Nyeri County on Saturday while campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta, he pointed out that NASA leaders are broke and so are demanding funds from the national government in order to fund their campaigns.

"Those funds should not be released just because they have threatened to go court. We know those governors in the opposition want to misuse the money for NASA campaigns," he stated.

He said the opposition has no money for campaigns and so want to squander the county funds,"let them use the PayBill money they raised and not county funds," Mandago explained.

He further indicated that the governors are overstepping the oversight role which is the Senators job adding that it is wrong to pressurize the government.

He was accompanied by his Baringo counterpart Stanely Kiptis,Senator Ephraim Maina, MPs Rigathi Gachagua, Kanini Kega, Cecily Mbarire and Robert Pukose.

Oparanya on Tuesday announced that governors would move to court over delays by the National Treasury to release money to counties.

He indicated that the lack of funds has crippled projects and the running of the 47 governments.

He pointed out that the national government has deliberately delayed releasing the cash despite the Senate's approval.
