Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi on Sunday revealed that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga can only stop the October 26th election from taking place if one of the presidential running mates dies.
In his weekly address, the Fifth Estate, Prof Ngunyi disclosed that all other avenues that the opposition leader could use to stop the fresh polls had collapsed which could prompt Raila to opt for a plan B.
"According to Article 138(8)b of the constitution; If a running mate to one of the candidate dies before October 26th the election will be moved to Boxing Day on December 26th.
"There is a running mate who lives in Kawangware and goes home using Route 46 matatus. If some Kawangware mukoras (thugs) kill him or a dog bites him to death before October 26, there will be no election and this is the only way Raila can stop election on 26 October," the team opined.
The comment was in reference to 35-year-old Eliud Muthiora Kariara who is the Running mate of Independent Presidential Candidate Japheth Kaluyu Kavinga.

"In the event, one of the five candidates' running mates dies, the election will be canceled and Raila will be proven right," Prof Ngunyi added.
Prof Ngunyi further stated that Raila's political career ended the day he withdrew from the election reading malice in his action.
"If he has withdrawn from the race why does he want reforms before the election? If he's not a candidate why is he staging daily riots to reform an IEBC whose election he is not a part of?
"He wants to start a civil war in Kenya and for the past 2 months he's tried to provoke us to accomplish the mission," he explained.

The team further conveyed that if the October election takes place and President Uhuru Kenyatta be declared the winner, Chief Justice David Maraga would nullify the results again.
The analysts submitted that CJ Maraga would declare himself the president of the caretaker government after nullifying the repeat polls.
"They will argue that Uhuru's mandate expired on November 1st, 2017. They will argue that the person most suitable to lead the caretaker government is Justice Maraga," the team explained.
