A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders on Saturday warned that they will seek justice at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over 'crimes against humanity' imposed on their supporters during the anti-IEBC protests.
Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the leaders stated that acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet should be held responsible for the police brutality experienced during the demos staged against the electoral body.
The Opposition leaders condemned CS Matiang'i and IG Boinett for the excessive force used by the police officers when quelling the protests adding that it was a classic example of crimes against humanity.

“Kenya is a signatory to the Rome Statute. What is happening in the country in regards to ethnic profiling, especially the Luo community falls within the scope of genocide," stated Orengo.
The Siaya Senator also indicated that the excessive force is purposefully meant to persecute Raila Odinga's Luo tribe in Nyanza.
Justifying the crime, he cited the International Crimes Act which states that 'you cannot kill people advancing different agenda.'
"You do not need to kill more than 100 people to classify the police actions as genocide against civilians," he stated adding that the affected victims affected so far deserve justice.
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed on his part noted that the government had hired thugs and soldiers to commit the cruelty against the Opposition supporters.

Regarding their anti-IEBC demos, Senator Orengo indicated that the protests would continue on Monday as planned.
"If the brutality against our people continues, we will not sit back and see our people dying. We will take action that will ensure the self-defense of our people against a harassing State,” he noted.
