Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday announced that the Jubilee Party will swear in President Uhuru Kenyatta after the October 26 election despite NASA's plan to boycott the election.
Speaking in Mombasa during a meeting with Ukambani delegates, the Governor stated that the Opposition's threats would not shun their plans to elect and swear in Kenyatta as their President.
"We as Jubilee are prepared, we want the election to be held on the date set by IEBC and after that, we shall swear-in President Uhuru," he stated.
He also echoed the President's sentiments claiming that Opposition leader Raila Odinga was working with international communities to undermine the current government.

"This will not dampen our decision to go to the election. Foreigners will not succeed in forcing Jubilee into a coalition government, that one they should forget," he stated
Governor Sonko also urged the Kamba community to support President Kenyatta in the repeat poll arguing that the Head of State supported him in the August election at the expense of his tribesman Peter Kenneth.
Meanwhile, President Kenyatta while addressing his supporters in Murang'a on Saturday, noted that there is no crisis in the country stating that the international communities will not be welcomed for peace talks.
“We are not interested in mediation or being put together. Kofi Annan is not present in Kenya. Raila should fly back to the country to mobilize voters,” he stated.

This comes after the NASA flagbearer withdrew from the repeat presidential election stating that the electoral officials failed to make necessary reforms.
"We have concluded that there is no intention on the part of the IEBC to make any changes to its operations and personnel, the indications are that the repeat poll will be worse than the previous one,"he stated.
