At least one person was injured when a building collapsed on Sunday during Jubilee campaigns spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nyeri county.
The incident occurred at Karatina stadium where the President and his deputy William Ruto were expected to address the area residents.
Nyeri County Commander Jacinta Wesonga confirmed the incident stating that everyone was evacuated from the scene safely.
"We saved one woman who had a minor injury on the leg,she has been rushed to the hospital," she stated.

The supporters allied to Jubilee party were sitting on the roof of the building as they sought to listen to the Jubilee leaders.
They were forced to run for safety when the walls of the hall started to collapse.
Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu was addressing the rally when the building collapsed.
Following the incident, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua ordered the Police at the rally to take immediate action.

Several people were rescued from the building by the security officers attached to Uhuru's campaign team.
The building located at the Karatina stadium was previously used for indoor games.
