A National Super Alliance (NASA) politician was on Friday morning arrested by the Police over remarks he made against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Airport Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ibrahim Omondi was arrested on Friday by the Mombasa Police.

Mrs Ibrahim also divulged that her husband's arrest was linked to the remarks he made concerning President Kenyatta.

Coast Police boss Larry Kieng confirmed the MCA's arrest, announcing: "We are probing him regarding a very serious offense."

Mr Kieng stated that the NASA politician is being questioned on a grave offense with a bearing on national security.

Mr Omondi has been in the spotlight since a video was circulated on social media showing him dismissing President Kenyatta as a caretaker President.

"Uhuru should be cautious. He is not even the President of Kenya, he is a caretaker president and is supposed to respect the constitution just like any other citizen," he stated.

Meanwhile, a section of Mombasa MCAs has warned the electoral commission against conducting the repeat poll in the county.
