A National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) commissioner on Tuesday defended the National Super Alliance's (NASA) call for boycott of some products.
Speaking in Busia county during the county peace and cohesion forum, Professor Gitile Naituli noted that the move was in order as long as individuals who are involved do not breach the law.
"Such lawful actions do not mean Kenyans are divided, some people like panicking because of our political differences to portray the country is divided," he stated.
He noted that all Kenyans have the freedom to express their views using any channels and methods.

Prof Naituli conveyed that the state is a unitary state where people are allowed to practice their democracy so long as they remain peaceful and operate within the law as stipulated in the Constitution.
The commissioner further affirmed that the government agency had already started the process of healing and reconciliation following the polarised elections.
He also faulted the religious community for failing to execute its mandate arguing that they are meant to be the moral campus of society.
"Their fear of division due to the NASA boycott is unfounded, political differences should not be interpreted to mean there is sharp division in the country," the NCIC Commissioner noted.
He also took a swipe at political leaders for stirring divisions every five years adding: "I want to see them have the capacity to feel the pain of other Kenyans and bring them together."

He also lauded Busia county for maintaining peace stating: "This good example should be emulated by other counties so that we live in peace, unity and as one family."
