Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday revealed the greatest lesson he learned from the late Eldoret Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir.
Speaking during the burial ceremony for the former Bishop, the Deputy President noted that Korir taught him to always say the Lord's Prayer seven times.
Mr Ruto noted that the Bishop, who was a friend to his family, told him to always make the prayer seven times, especially during tough times.
"There is one teaching he taught my family, and that is the Lords prayer, he taught me how to make the prayer differently by saying it seven times especially when times are hard," he stated.
The Deputy President also thanked the Eldoret Catholic church for allowing the Bishop be given a state burial.

"We thank the Catholic church for accepting the offer by the president to allow the government of Kenya to participate in giving a decent send off to this man," he stated.
He also lauded the bishop for doing not only church-related assignments but also activities that helped improve the political leadership in Kenya. He related that it is this selfless initiative that compelled the government to be part of the ceremony.
Mr Ruto noted that the former Catholic bishop was a father of faith, an advisor as well as a reconciler for all Kenyans.
"When he speaks he means what he says and says exactly what he means, he was firm and that is why we celebrate him as a champion of peace," the Deputy President stated
He also eulogized the Catholic cleric as an individual whose teachings taught peace and unity adding that: "The life he lived, he taught us to refuse, resist and reject hate, division and violence."
