What Uhuru Discussed With UN Boss During State House Meeting

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday held a meeting with United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) President Miroslav Lajčák at Statehouse, Nairobi.

President Kenyatta and Mr Lajčák discussed means through which the UN offices in Nairobi could be strengthened.

The Head of State lobbied Lajčák to use his networks to vouch for the consolidation of UN offices in Nairobi.

“This will support the strengthening of UNEP and UN-Habitat in Nairobi,” President Kenyatta stated.

The leaders also discussed reforms being implemented at the UN as President Kenyatta pushed for Nairobi to be selected as the host of the UN's Service Centre for the region.
