The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched 24-hour CCTV cameras at the notorious Salgaa stretch along Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The infamous 14-kilometer stretch between Salgaa town and Sachangwan has continued to hit news headlines with chilling accidents.
NTSA hopes to use the CCTV cameras to monitor the events that lead to the simultaneous accidents, and thereafter, come up with ways of how to manage them.
The cameras are to also help the officers curb and punish traffic offenders as stimulated in the Traffic Acts.

In November alone, 18 people have lost their lives due to accidents along the road.
An assessment done by the Authority revealed that most accidents have in the past involved heavy cargo trucks.
The road safety authority then proposed licensing of commercial vehicles and mandatory rest for truck drivers. According to the body, no truck driver will be allowed to drive for more than eight hours a day or do more than 500km.
The proposed safety measures seek to outlaw parking in undesignated areas to prevent accidents caused by dangerous parking.
Truck operators will also have to mark their vehicles with retro-reflective contour markings to help identify the length and width of the vehicle..
The authority proposed at least a one hour rest "for each period spent driving continuously for four hours as stated by NTSA Director General Francis Meja.
This comes as the Kenya National Highways Authority and NTSA continue to be severally blamed for turning a blind eye to the many accidents.
