A county official in Nakuru is on the spot after six seats stolen from State House were found in his hotel.
According to police, the seats had been stolen from Nakuru State Lodge between October and November 2017.
“It is suspected the chairs were stolen from State House and some found their way to a hotel owned by a top official working in the county government,” a police officer was quoted by the Standard.

Nakuru OCPD Samuel Obara confirmed the incident and stated that 60 executive chairs had been stolen but only six were recovered.
“Sixty chairs went missing from the State Lodge in Nakuru and we are investigating how they ended up at the hotel.
“We raided the hotel after getting information that some of the missing chairs were at the hotel,” stated Obara.
The hotel manager was also arrested during the raid and was taken to Nakuru Central Police Station to aid in investigations.
Mr Obara was reluctant to divulge more information as it would jeopardise investigations in a matter he termed 'sensitive'.
“This issue is sensitive and should be handled with care, that is why police headquarters will brief you,” he added.
Conflicting reports, however, indicate that County Director of Criminal Investigations Jeremiah Musyoki dismissed claims that the chairs were found at the hotel.
