Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua received backlash on Wednesday after issuing a strong statement against the People's Assembly which he posted on his Twitter handle.
Led by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr, his followers advised Dr Mutua to take a few lessons on the Laws of Kenya because he seemed ignorant on the matter.
In the video message he tweeted, Governor Mutua attacked NASA's People's Assembly motion calling for the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) who passed the motion to be stripped of their elective posts.
"Kenya is not a Kangaroo nation, Kenya is a country with law and order and a new Constitution. Therefore, you cannot wake up one morning and go and vote as an MCA to give power back to the people as a People's Assembly and then continue to be in office.

"We are saying that we are going to court as Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) and we're going to ask the judge to declare that all the MCAs who passed the People's Assembly motion automatically resigned and their seats should be declared vacant," the Governor stated in the footage.
In reply, the Senator subtly accused the Governor of lacking sufficient knowledge to understand the subject he was commenting about.
Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr retorted: "Ignorance of the law is not an excuse or defence."
Followers of the two Ukambani politicians picked up on the Senator's jab asking him to teach Dr Mutua law explaining that the Governor was only knowledgeable in matters of film-making.
Others took the opportunity to call out the Machakos Governor on the alleged painting of roads in his county instead of tarmacking.
Here are the responses that were offered.
