PS Nominee Nelson Marwa Replaced

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i, on Monday replaced Principal Secretary nominee Nelson Marwa in his former position as the Coast Regional Commissioner.

A list seen by Kenyans.co.ke indicated that Mr Marwa would be replaced by Bernard Lemparmarai, who has been serving as the Nairobi Regional Commissioner.

The immediate former Rift Valley Regional Commander, Wanyama Musiambo, has also been replaced following his State House appointment as deputy Head of Civil Service.

Mr Musiambo has been replaced by Mongo Chimwanga, who previously served as the Busia County Commissioner.

Taking over from Mr Lemparmaria will be William K. Thuku, a new entrant to the regional top administration in the government.

The reshuffle affected Ms Ann Ng'etich, who was serving in the Central region and will now take over the Western region. Her counterpart in Nyanza, Mr Wilson Njenga, will now take over the Central region.

Announcing the reshuffle, Dr Matiang'i stated that the new appointments had been approved by the President.

"Following close consultation with His Excellency the President, and in the interest of enhancing service delivery and strengthening security, I have made the following deployments and transfers," the notice read in part.

President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated the vocal Mr Marwa to the Ministry of Devolution as the PS in charge of Devolution in the list that was released on January 28.
