3 Die in Kayole after Failed Robbery

Three robbers were shot dead today morning in Kayole, Nairobi, after a failed robbery attempt.

The three, among them a woman had attacked a gas cylinders dealer at a petrol station in the area.

Police officers were notified, and the robbers fled the scene in a car.

After a car chase, they came to a stop after hitting a lorry from behind.

A gun fight ensued as the robbers opened fire on the officers, The Nation reports.

They were all gunned down and died instantly.

According to The Standard, an AK47 rifle and pistol were recovered from the robbers.

Nairobi News reports that the police operation was conducted by the Special Crime Prevention Unit.

There was a traffic build up for hours at the scene as curious motorists slowed down to catch a glimpse of the robbers.

Residents in the area have launched complaints of insecurity.

A few days ago, four other robbers engaged police in a gun battle after their botched robbery.

The residents are worried that the robbers are getting bolder by the day.

They are calling on the County Government to beef up security in the area.
