President Uhuru Meets Muslim Cleric Mufti Ismail Menk of Zimbabwe

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday met celebrated Muslim Cleric Mufti Ismail Menk of Zimbabwe.

Posting on his Twitter page, the Head of State exclaimed: "Earlier, with Islamic Scholar, @muftimenk chief Mufti of Zimbabwe at the Sagana State Lodge."

The cleric landed in the country on Thursday to hold a lecture on Saturday with some Islam leaders at Parklands masjid.

The Islamic Scholar was welcomed to the country by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala who posed: "Tour Alhamdullah @muftimenk has joined us this Ramadan. Tomorrow insha Allah he will lead jummah prayers at the Parklands masjid and a sermon after Taraweeh Insha Allah."

Following the post by President Uhuru, Mufti Ismail Menk's followers were quick to applaud him for his service to humanity.

One Being Charlie mentioned: "Mufti Menk is no doubt one of deepest Islamic clerics ever."

Another one expressed: "I can't wait for @muftimenk ‘s visit to Uganda ooh God I like his preaching May Allah enable him at least one trip to Uganda In Shaa Allah."

"Is the mufti going to have any public engagement? Would wish to attend. Mufti Menk is the Louis Farakhan of Africa. kudos." yet another Twitter user stated.

In 2014 and 2017 Mufti Ismail Menk was named one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan.

He was also awarded a  Global Leadership Award in Social Guidance by the KSBEA Awards in 2015.

Additionally, the Cleric has more than three million followers on Twitter.
