Ngirita Family Allege Officer Framed Them for NYS Scandal

The Ngirita family has alleged that the officer who recorded their statement framed them after they declined a whisky invite - after which they were implicated in the National Youth Service scandal and were arrested.

In an affidavit, one of the siblings Jeremiah Ngichini Ngirita stated that the family's business relationship with officer Mike Julius Kingoo Muia turned sour upon which hostilities arose.

"I together with Mike Julius Kingoo Muia have been carrying out the business of supplying hardware and renovating facilities at the National Youth Service in Gilgil.

"After our business and relationship went soar, Mike Julius Kingoo Muia vowed to use his position to fight our family," Ngichina explained.

He further stated that the officer persisted to reestablish the ties with the family - advances they declined.

Ngichina went ahead to convey that together with his sisters Ann Wambere Ngirita and Phylis Njeri met the officer in a club along Langata road.

"At the meeting, he suggested that we should proceed to his residence to take refreshments which we declined.

"He then told us that he would take the statement of Ms Wambere Ngirita at his residence alone as they enjoy "Black Label Whisky which we declined," Ngichina divulged.

He added that in a separate incident on May 28, the officer exhibited unprofessional behaviour during the recording of Ms Wambere's statement, making sexual advances on her.

"Muia assigned himself to write the statement of Ms Wambere and the said taking of statement lasted from 9am to 3pm where they constantly disagreed as a result of his sexual advances to her.

"The cause of all the allegations against me and my family is due to the business disagreements between Mike Julius Kingoo Muia and ourselves. All the said allegations are totally false and malicious," Ngichina stated in his affidavit.
