Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama's Son, Ndemo Nyagarama Dies in Hospital

Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama's son died on Monday evening in a hospital in Nairobi.

Relatives confirmed the news stating that Ndemo Nyagarama passed away while receiving treatment after a long battle with meningitis.

His brother Momanyi Nyagarama disclosed that Ndemo (44) had been hospitalized for about two months.

"He has been unwell and we are grateful to the Nairobi family for taking care of him. Unfortunately, he has left us," he was quoted by the Nation.

Another relative who spoke to the Star conveyed that: "He could not breathe with ease and has been complaining of chest pains. The situation was not good at all. Let him rest in peace."

The sad news comes at a time when the Governor is out of the country.

The Nation reported that the Ngarama is in the United States for an official tour. According to the governor's Press Director Kefa Miller, the county boss is out looking for investors for the county.

However, the Star reported that the Governor was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness in the US.

In his absence, deputy governor Amos Nyaribo has been heading the county.

On Tuesday, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok on behalf of the council of governors sent is condolences to the governor.

"I am deeply saddened by the death of George Ndemo, son of Nyamira governor. Our prayers are with you, your family and the people of Nyamira County," Nanok stated.
