Machakos Government Efficiency Advisor Sammy Mbova Passes Away

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is in mourning following the passing of one of his advisors.

Through his social media, Mutua announced that his Government efficiency advisor, Sammy Mbova passed away on Sunday.

"I am sad to announce the passing of one of my Government advisors and friend Mzee Sammy Mbova, this afternoon. Bw. Mbova, a former PS of health and other ministries in the Kenyan Civil Service, was an exemplary and wonderful man.

"He referred to me as “my son.” I will really miss him. SAD," read a message on his Twitter account.

Prior to the 2017 elections, Mbova served as Wiper's National Election Board Chair where he pushed for the interests of the party.

On his part, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka described the late  Mbova as a man who served the country with great dedication and commitment.

"In the departure of Sammy, the Wiper Democratic Movement of Kenya fraternity in particular, and Kenyans in general have lost a great nationalist and public servant.

“In the demise of Sammy, I have personally been dealt a big blow since he was also a great family friend. I offer my heartfelt condolences to all those who were in one way or another touched by his life,” he was quoted by the Nation.

An elder in the county, Mzee Mbova also served as health Permanent secretary in Moi's Government.

In 1971, he graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelors Degree in Arts.
