Uhuru Nominates Lynne Cherop Mengich as SRC Chair

President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Monday nominated Lyn Cherop Mengich as the new Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Committee (SRC).

This comes following lawmakers' rejection of Uhuru's initial nominee for the position Ben Chumo.

Chumo, a former Kenya Power Managing Director, was rejected as questions were raised on his integrity after he was charged with economic crimes.

Along with several other senior Kenya Power managers, they stand accused of orchestrating the irregular supply of faulty transformers worth Sh4.5 Billion.

Mangich had featured on the list of shortlisted candidates to replace Sarah Serem at SRC before Chumo's announcement was made.
