COTU Boss Francis Atwoli Opens Up on His Riches and Love for Mary Kilobi

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli opened up on his lavish lifestyle during a Wednesday night interview on Citizen TV.

The COTU boss detailed his family life refuting claims that he had used his wealth to take KTN News anchor Mary Kilobi from her antagonised husband.

Atwoli stated that Kilobi was no doubt a perfect pick for a wife showering her with praises during the popular JKL Live interview.

He stated that the news presenter was single at the time he sought her hand in marriage, given her parents confirmed no man had paid dowry to have her off the singlehood world.

"I have never taken anyone's wife. As you heard, Mary is not young, she is 34 and at that age she must have had boyfriends in her life. I went to her parents and they confirmed no one had approached them seeking to marry their daughter. No man had paid any dowry for Mary and when they asked her whether we were in love, she said yes," revealed Atwoli.

He admitted having released his other wife after joining politics noting being a busy man, he needed someone who'd take care of him.

This he said was part of the reason he married the anchor who he praised for fitting perfectly in his life.

"My wife takes care of me very well," he admitted, noting that he will be buying her a 'comfortable car' given the nature of work she does as a media personality.

He went on to state that he only has two wives and being such a man of repute, he would not get involved in affairs that would be detrimental to his personality.

"I am a respectable Kenyan. All that I do has to be in line with my reputation, including my family life... I have 17 children. I also pay school fees for 74 others. I have never been found with anyone's wife or in a lodging doing funny things," he stated.

On riches, Atwoli admitted he is not just rich but many people underestimate the value of his wealth.

His watch, for instance, cost him more than Kshs 5 Million while word on the streets put its price at a mere Kshs 2 Million.

"I have two cars for myself. Most people do not know me. Sometimes they over-value me and sometimes they under-value me. My watch, for instance, is pure gold and cost me more than Kshs5 Million which I paid in installments.

"People were claiming that my watch is Kshs 2Million. They are undervaluing me!!.. My watch is Ksh 5 Million!!.. Franck Muller!!.. I bought it in Switzerland!! You must have a certificate to own this watch!! It’s in my car," he clarified.

In his counsel, Atwoli cautions young people against seeking to use dubious easy money making avenues warning that such riches are short lived.

He held that "those who use shortcuts to be rich: ‘The wheels of justice grind slowly. One day, they will catch up with you’ Money is never made, money is earned after working."
