Man Grabs Gun From AP Officer and Shoots Himself Dead

Ibrahim Ewoi, a civilian from Kampi Samaku, Marigat in Baringo County ended his life with a G3 rifle snatched from an AP officer.

A police officer who spoke anonymously indicated that Ewoi and the AP were drinking at a chang'aa den when the incident happened.

Ibrahim allegedly excused himself before grabbing the rifle and subsequently stashed it into a sack before making a disappearance.

“The man was with the officer, cunningly he bought him some chang’aa and the officer got drunk. It is then that the man managed to take the gun from him, stashed it in a sack and walked away with it,” stated the officer.

At the time of stealing the rifle, it is alleged that Ewoi had the intentions of targeting his wife. They had separated with his spouse for a period of six months prior to the incident.

Immediately after taking hold of the gun, Ewoi rushed to his in-laws. He mistakenly shot at a woman he believed to be his wife.

He then turned the rifle to himself and ended his life instantly.

His female victim is recuperating at Kabarnet County Hospital. With the administration police officer in custody, the police now say that they are still investigating the matter.

According to Baringo County Administration Police Commandant Robinson Ndhiwa, the police officer is now assisting security agents in concluding the matter.

“Allow me to investigate the matter and get back to you’, affirmed Ndhiwa.
