Ambitious Plan to Revive NASA Unveiled

An ambitious plan to revive the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition has been unveiled in the wake of a rebellion within the opposition's quarters.

Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, who also serves as the coalition's co-chair on Tuesday, disclosed that he will embark on a series of meetings to salvage the outfit.

This, he stated was directed by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who ordered the committee to set up an agenda for the coalition on Monday.

In that regard, Muthama noted that he had already reached out to various leaders among them Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who has been less than cordial about his relationship with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"I have talked to Wetangula and I've tried to explain to him what brought about all this discord in the coalition. We are still in talks," he disclosed during an interview on KTN News.

Mudavadi, who has been vocal about his distrust for Raila, took to Twitter on Wednesday faulting his (Raila) approach to handling national matters.

"Raila is espousing, rather poorly, the same discredited philosophy about the handshake that has left a rotten egg on his face! Won't work brother!

"Omwami Raila don't let your memory fail you. Try and recall what you told us at Stony Athi meeting about your handshake and how you had kept it away from your NASA partners," he tweeted.

The former Senator added that his attempts to reach ANC leader Mudavadi were unsuccessful but he was optimistic that they would resolve their issues.

With his party, Mudavadi has repackaged himself as the defunct opposition leader as explained by ANC secretary General Barrack Muluka.

"We will continue doing the work of the opposition without feeling isolated," he conveyed.

Despite the current quarrels by different factions, Muthama stated that the management team would meet and discuss a way forward.

He did not rule out the option of disbanding the coalition if the members involved agree.
