Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny on Tuesday humiliated Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen after the latter accused him of sycophancy.
The Citizen TV interview moderated by Hussein Mohammed turned into a name-calling and accusation trading session as the two leaders differed on matters touching on Deputy President William Ruto.
The Cherangany MP, who is a strong critic of the DP, accused the Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator of being a sycophant of Ruto, hence failing to objectively address matters affecting the nation including the maize scandal.
The allegation, however, did not go well with Murkomen who retorted, "The thermometer for sycophancy is in you Kutuny.
"William Ruto picked you from dust when you were selling charcoal and made you who you are," he quipped.
Kutuny, on his side, blasted Murkomen claiming that he supported him when running for Senate.
"I picked you from the streets and made you the Senator. I used to give you money every week; my wife used to support you every week for campaigns.
"Respect us though we are not sycophants. I sued to support you every week when going for campaigns.
"The M-Pesa reports are there. I even bought you the first car... The Harrier you used to campaign. My brother, respect the elders."
A seemingly embarrassed Murkomen tried to calm down the debate by telling off Kutuny, "Apana (No). Relax. Don't lie".
For the better part of the interview, the two leaders kept trading blames over the failure to address the woes of maize farmers, especially in their Rift Valley backyard.
At some point, the Senate Majority Leader implied that Kutuny was being investigated by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
"You cannot, my brother, try to pontify on television. Do you know that you are in the radar of the FBI and the CIA?
"Do you know of your involvement in other things in this country that has led to some people being taken to the US? You cannot pontify here... your days are numbered," Murkomen hit back at Kutuny.
