President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Saturday puzzled by Raila Odinga's disappearance from his convoy of vehicles in Kisumu County.
After concluding a public address on the sidelines of the late Bruce Odhiambo's funeral, he started asking about Odinga's whereabouts.
"Sasa tulikuwa na mwenyeji wetu hapa ndugu yangu mkumbwa, sijui amepotelea wapi. Ako mbele ama ako nyuma? (I was accompanied by our host (Raila) who is like my elder brother, I don't know where he has disappeared to. Is he ahead or behind?)," Uhuru wondered.
During his roadside address at Muhuroni, he promised that the government would complete the construction of Koru Dam.
He asserted that the handshake between him and Odinga will translate into development for the region.
The President told the residents that he received a memorandum from Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o during the launch of Universal Health Coverage.
The memorandum included among other things request for construction of Muhoroni-Mamboleo Road and other crucial roads in the county.
During Bruce's funeral, Uhuru revealed an intimate relationship his son enjoyed with the deceased.
President Kenyatta praised Odhiambo as a mentor to youth most notably his own son Jomo Kenyatta.
“Bruce was also a mentor to very many young people in this country including my own son Jomo who helped straighten him out. Which is a fact,” stated Uhuru.
