Court Issues Warrant of Arrest for Two Chinese Nationals Over Ksh 70 Million Theft

Kenyan police officers are looking for two Chinese Nationals who allegedly stole money from their employer before fleeing on October 4, 2018.

Du Fang and Liu Feng Ying are accused of transferring Ksh 70million from the account of Hu Shi Wen, held at DTB bank while their employer was away on a business trip to China.

Principal Magistrate Peter Ooko issued warrants of arrest for the two foreigners on Monday, who are to be presented before court to answer to the case.

“I pray that this honorable court do issue me warrants of arrest to the suspects to enable me circulate to all stations in Kenya and Interpol,” wrote the investigating officer in an affidavit.

The two will face charges of conspiracy to defraud and steal.

The investigative officer further stated that he will work with the Immigration Department to help apprehend the alleged fraudsters.

This comes days after three Chinese nationals and a Kenyan were arrested in Kilimani area, Nairobi for being in possession of decomposing meat. The three had been charged with being in possession of wildlife trophies.

They were found in possession of a rhino horn worth Ksh 1.8 million, leopard skin worth Ksh 500,000 and other valuables worth Ksh 4 million.

They were also found with a tortoise which the court directed be released to the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) after the police cited that it was wild by nature.

The two foreigners were also charged with engaging in business for profit without permit.
