Ukambani MCAs Snub Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's Meeting

A section of County legislators from Machakos County Assembly snubbed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's meeting, dismissing it as "musical chairs".

The 17 MCAs held an alternative meeting at the Maulice Hotel, Machakos, where they called out the wiper leader and asked him to retire from active politics.

"We have heard of some desperate moves by the Wiper leadership convening a meeting in an attempt to revive Hon Kalonzo's diminishing political career," Minority Whip Alex Kamitu noted while reading their joint press statement.

The leaders dismissed Kalonzo's move, citing that nothing good would come out of the meeting.

"Nothing much will come out of it. We have been through these musical chairs before," he continued.

They also vowed to support the three Ukambani governors (Charity Ngilu of Kitui, Alfred Mutua of Machakos and Makueni's Kivutha Kibwana), arguing that Kalonzo's tenure as their leader had not impacted the community majorly.

"Unfortunately, there is little, if any, to be proud of compared to what other leaders like Raila Odinga and retired President Mwai Kibaki have done nationally and for their respective regions," they affirmed.

It is alleged that the wiper leader had convened a meeting at his Yatta home in what was termed as a bid to find a solution to tame the three governors from the Ukambani region.

This comes after the three Ukambani governors came together to take a stand against Musyoka.

They accused him of frustrating the development agenda in the three counties by inciting county legislators against them.

The governors then asked Kalonzo to retire from politics, citing that Ukambani needed new leaders intent on developing the region.
