Machakos Tourism County Executive Committee (CEC) member, Faith Wahome, has resigned from her position.

“Even though I would wish her to continue serving in my Government due to her exemplary service, I respect her wish and hence my decision to accept her request,” the Governor stated.

Governor Mutua further stated he planned to work with Ms. Wahome in the future.

“I plan to engage her in other ways so that she can continue providing expertise and knowledge to the people of Machakos,” he added.

“In the meantime, I have appointed Hon. Francis Mwaka, the Minister for Trade, Innovation and Industrialization to act in the docket of Tourism, Sports and Culture,” the Governor continued.

Mutua also wished Wahome well in her future undertakings, sincerely thanking her for the service she rendered to the Government and the people of Machakos.

In January 2019, Janet Muthoni Ouko resigned as the Nairobi Education CEC a decision that did not go well with Governor Mike Sonko.

Some of the challenges stated by the CEC were limited number of schools and a huge population of children requiring the services.

Her colleagues, however, cited her resignation was due to the constant disagreement with the Nairobi Governor.
