Journalist Raymond Owiti Narrates How Househelp Nearly Killed Him

Raymond Owiti, a former journalist with Standard Media Group has narrated how he was brutally harmed by a househelp when he was young which later led to a brain tumor, that he has been living with for 10 years.

Raymond has stated that the househelp would bash his head on the wall whenever he did a mistake.

“Since all my siblings had reached school-going age, my parents would leave me at home with the house help,” he recounted.

The constant bashing led to the onset of convulsions that would attack him any time consequently affecting his self-esteem. Raymond narrated on how he would have convulsions for days owing to the condition.

“I used to have convulsions and everyone would laugh at me. The other students did not view me as one of them and laughed at my condition. I totally lost my self-esteem.

Living in Siaya County, he narrates how rumors went round that he was bewitched hence he decided to quit school, but was convinced to go back.

“I saw no need to continue schooling as I felt I was not part of the students,” he remarked.

Raymond further indicated how he once visited the witch doctor in Loliondo, Tanzania in search of healing.

“I visited Loliondo to see the famous Babu in 2012. Despite taking the medicine, I felt no change,” he lamented.

He is scheduled to go to India for a surgery to remove the tumor and is seeking medical aid from well-wishers.
