A 76-year-old German has been jailed for 42 days without an option of a fine after resisting arrest, insulting a prosecutor and fingerprinting.
Reports state that Gerald Lambertus committed the offense during an ongoing court case where he had been accused of possessing illegal firearms.
He started causing fracas during the court session, where he burst in anger and started hurling insults at the prosecutor addressing her by the word prostitute.
He was then handed fresh charges by Senior Magistrate Patrick Wambugu which he pleaded guilty to.
However, he denied insulting the State Counsel.
On February 7, 2016, Lambertus was charged with illegal possession at Mangro Park 3 Neptune in Diani Beach Area where he was found with an illegal pistol without a firearm certificate.
The foreigner had been out on a cash bail of ksh100,000.
Elsewhere, an Offaly man appeared in court for allegedly preaching in Kenya without a visa.
Rory Bracken had been preaching with Testify World Ministries group and he believes his lawyers will have him vindicated.
A publication called Ofaly Express states that Bracken is due in court on March 20, 2019.
