US Ambassador Posts on Corruption & Kenyans Support Him

The US Ambassador to Kenya, Kyle McCarter, on Friday morning started a hashtag on Twitter #FedUpWithCorruption that got Kenyans responding.

McCarter seemingly inquired on what Kenyans would do about the rise in corruption in the country.

"Just thinking this morning...If $ Cost of Corruption = $ Cost of Big4, don’t we have a choice? What will each of us do?" he tweeted.

Netizens responded to him, supporting that corruption had become a huge menace in the country.

"All we need is us, me and you, we condemn these corrupt guys, take to streets if need be," John the Kenyan stated.

"I think the ambassador is asking what can we do individually to end the vice..... going through the comments, acceptance of the vice and a clear hopeless in fighting it is apparent. It's like people are saying; it's our way of life," he stated.

"Just woke up to the news that Kisumu county bought a cow (I don't know why) for Ksh.3m. Now it's done on our faces," another user weighed in on the matter.

An analysis done by the Auditor General revealed that approximately Ksh1 trillion is lost to corruption every year since the Jubilee Government came to power.

The government, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, had promised to work on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare as part of the big four agenda.
