Ivy Wangechi's Killer Explains Why He Hacked Her

Ivy Wangechi's killer, Naftali Njahi Kinuthia, has explained why he killed the medical student at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

Kinuthia alleged that he had invested money and love in Wangechi but she did not reciprocate it in the manner he expected.

Divulging the details, Eldoret East DCI boss, Ali Kingi, stated that Kinuthia claimed he had sent Wangechi money, which she was supposed to use in organising her birthday party.

After Kinuthia sent the money, he tried calling her several times but Wangechi did not respond to his calls.

The Eldoret DCI boss cited that this is what prompted Kinuthia to travel from Thika to Eldoret in order to know why she was ignoring him.

"He said it got to a point where she switched off her phone and that angered him, prompting him to look for an axe and kill the girl," Kingi told Citizen Digital on Wednesday.

Kinuthia narrated that it was not the first time he had visited the girl in Eldoret. He further noted that he had visited the girl on Friday but their meeting was brief, and Wangechi excused herself to go remove her professional attire promising to return but she never did.

"However, upon reaching her residential place, the woman switched off her phone, effectively blocking her planned meeting with him," Kingi narrated.

Kinuthia narrated that he then decided to come back on Monday but Wangechi did not pick his calls which infuriated him.

"Kinuthia said he felt despised by the woman when she refused to pick his calls. From our sources, the suspect bought the axe and knife in Eldoret. They were sharpened in Eldoret," stated the Eldoret DCI boss.

According to Kingi, Wangechi's family also stated that they knew Kinuthia and that the two had been friends for a very long time.

“The girl’s parents say they knew the suspect. He used to visit them often, and is a family friend," he stated.

The DCI boss disclosed that they were still waiting for Kinuthia to give more details after he is discharged from the hospital, where he was admitted after being beaten by an angry mob for the heinous act.
