Ruto's Joke About Raila's CV Leaves Uhuru in Stitches [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday made a joke about former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's CV that left President Uhuru Kenyatta laughing.

Former UK politician Lord Michael Hastings, while speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park on Thursday, asked if Kenya had a spare Prime Minister since Britain's Theresa May had announced her resignation.

"You might have noticed we had a little political turbulence at the moment and we were just wondering if you had a spare prime minister around we could..." Hastings requested, leaving the president and the delegates in stitches.

When Ruto stood to speak, he fronted Odinga as a good replacement for Theresa May.

"On your request for a PM...We have a retired one in Kenya and since the constitution of Kenya doesn't have the post and he may not have it anytime soon, we will send you his CV," Ruto quipped.

Taking the cue from his Deputy, President Kenyatta also cracked a joke, sending the delegates into a frenzy.

"You have been given an offer for one person…I have more people I can donate to you for the next 3 years for me to have peace," spoke Uhuru.

Thursday's function marked the 17th National Prayer Breakfast since it was started in 2003 by retired President Mwai Kibaki.

"This is an occasion where we can speak to ourselves candidly without considering who is in government or opposition.

"The subject today is a new dawn for our country and what we should all do. We must rid our government and institutions of corruption," Ruto stated.
