This seems to be a dark weekend for counties as another CEC lost his life after being shot at Kendu Bay.
The Homa Bay CEC for Transport and Infrastructure Philemon Dony Opar was attacked by gunmen as he was going about his duties at his petrol station.
Reports indicated that his assailants had been trailing him for a while. They made away with an undisclosed amount of money, the deceased's mobile phones, and a laptop.
Prior to his death, the county official had disclosed that he feared for his life.
"I'd like to tell the Chief who's here with us today that there is motorbike that moves around this village from 2am to 4am. It doesn't have headlights. We've seen it.
"Yesterday, they flashed lights in my home. I wondered what they were after. I know who sent them," he had divulged at a past meeting.
