In the just-released Kenya Media Landscape Report by the Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA), Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohammed, has emerged in the top 17 personalities covered in the news.
The survey was conducted during the period between October 2018 and June 2019.
Ms Mohammed, who came in fifth, was the only female personality which featured in the list.
She was preceded by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who came in first with 20%, Deputy President William Ruto (13%), Opposition leader Raila Odinga (8%), Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i (5%) and tied with the Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko at 3%.
The two CSs were the most mentioned during the said period in the coverage of news.
Amina was widely mentioned due to releasing of the national exam results, students placement to universities and the new curriculum.
During President Uhuru's first term, Amina served as Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs from May 2013 to February 2018.
After his re-election in 2017, Amina was moved to the Education Ministry, where she served until March 2019, when she was transferred to the Sports docket.
Some of the other personalities mentioned in the list are; ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi (2%), Education CS, George Magoha (2%), DPP Noordin Haji (2%), Wiper Leader, Kalonzo Musyoka (2%) and DCI boss, George Kinoti (2%).
Others are; Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu (2%), former Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet (1%), Migori Governor, Okoth Obado (1%), COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli (1%) and Mombasa Governor, Hassan Joho (1%).
