Kanze Dena's Touching Message to MP Ken Okoth

During a press briefing at State House, on Tuesday, Spokesperson Kanze Dena aired out a touching message to Kibra MP Ken Okoth, who jetted back into the country last week.

The MP, who had travelled to France to receive cancer treatment, earlier disclosed that he had been diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer.

While addressing journalists at State House, Kanze lauded Okoth's determination to fight the disease.

"In closing, allow me to mention a great son of Kenya, the Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth who has recently returned to the country after months of treatment in France.

"In the true Kenyan spirit of resilience, Mheshimiwa Okoth has shown immense courage in his fight against cancer," she noted.

She further wished the MP a quick recovery, adding that his determination was an inspiration to many Kenyans.

"The Honorable Okoth's determination to defeat the disease is an inspiration to many Kenyans. As we wish Mheshimiwa quick recovery, we ask the country to support fellow Kenyans affected by cancer," Kanze concluded.

In February this year, Okoth disclosed his cancer diagnosis, stating that the condition was discovered late and that it could not be cured but only managed.

Despite his five-month absence, the MP had been updating Kenyans on his medical condition, as well as participating in his constituency's development matters.

Napambana na hali yangu kabisa (I am dealing with my condition). Chemo drugs are brutal on the skin and immunity system,” he once responded to a Twitter user, who asked how he was fairing.
