MPs Sudi and Ngunjiri Go at Each Other After Rotich's Arrest

Nyeri Town MP, Ngunjiri Wambugu, on Monday afternoon, sparked controversy when he took to Facebook to poke fun at his Kapseret counterpart, Oscar Sudi.

Wambugu had no idea the can of worms he had opened when he posted that Kenyans should now expect a presser from Sudi and co. after the arrest of Treasury CS Henry Rotich.

The Nyeri lawmaker had posted a caricature drawing of Sudi with the wordings, "Sisi kama fiongosi wa ponde la ufa (we as leaders from Rift Valley)’ captioned “now we wait for a presser from this.”

Sudi, who felt offended by the Nyeri legislator, responded in a personal attack on Ngunjiri, noting that he wouldn't lower himself to offer a response.

I don't respond to inconsequential busybodies. Women MPs will do their work in responding to one of their own. Lanes,” Sudi responded.

Sudi’s response was based on a tweet where residents from Nyeri had stated that they would vote for Ngunjiri as their woman rep come 2022.

This feisty exchange was brought by the arrest of Treasury CS, Henry Rotich, by the DCI after an order by DPP Noordin Haji.

Rotich was among 28 people that haji found were answerable for the Kimwarer and Arorr dams scandal.

The CS, alongside his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of NEMA, Geoffrey Wahungu, presented themselves before the DCI after their arrest was ordered.

DCI boss George Kinoti, who spoke to Capital news noted that they were in custody awaiting to be taken to court, as the DCI was looked for more others.
